672.15 DISCHARGING FIREARMS.
   (a)   No person shall discharge any cannon, pistol, spring gun, sling shot, bow and arrow with steel tips or any firearm of any kind within the limits of the Village except:
      (1)   Police officers in the discharge of their duties, as such;
      (2)   When reasonably necessary in the actual defense of person or property;
      (3)   Under the provisions of Section 618.15 (Hunting) of these Codified Ordinances.
   (b)   In addition to the exceptions provided in subsection (a) hereof, discharging of firearms shall be permitted when the same is pursuant to the rules and regulations of the National Rifle Association and upon the granting of a permit therefor by the Chief of Police.
   (c)   A permit shall not be issued by the Chief of Police unless the applicant shows that such discharging of any weapon will not endanger life, limb or property, or will not in any manner violate the public peace, welfare and safety of the residents and/or property within the Village.
   (d)   Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree.Punishment shall be as provided in Section 698.02.
