(a) No person shall violate a rabies quarantine order issued under Ohio R.C. 955.26. (ORC 955.39)
(b) Whenever a dog or cat is required to be quarantined after biting a person pursuant to the provisions of Ohio R.C. 955.261, such animal may not be quarantined by its owner or by a harborer in a private residence but shall only be quarantined in a pound or kennel. In all cases, said quarantine shall be under the supervision of the Health Commissioner of the health district in which the bite was inflicted and shall be at the expense of the owner or harborer. Such quarantine shall otherwise be governed in accordance with the provisions of Ohio R.C. 955.261 and any applicable Ohio Administrative Code provisions not in conflict herewith. (Ord. 1994-27. (c) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor for a first offense; for each subsequent offense such person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree. Punishment shall be as provided in Section 698.02.
