The purposes of the Architectural Board of Review are to protect and preserve the value, appearance and use of property, to preserve and protect the public by maintaining the high character of the community development, protecting the property on which buildings are constructed or altered and protecting the real estate within the Village from impairment or destruction of values, by regulating, in accordance with accepted and recognized architectural principles, as well as other provisions of the Zoning Code and ordinances of the Village, the design, use of materials, finished grade lines and orientation, dimensions and location of all new buildings and the moving, alteration, improvement, repair, adding to, or razing in whole or in part of, all existing buildings. The Board shall exercise its powers and perform its duties for the accomplishment of such purposes only. (Ord. 1984-32. Passed 6-11-84.)
