There is hereby established the office of Chief of Police. The Chief shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Village Board for a four-year term. The first term shall begin on the date of the first regularly scheduled meeting in May, 2005 and shall extend through April 30, 2009. Subsequent four-year terms shall begin on May 1 and end on April 30. Upon a vacancy, the President may appoint a successor to complete a term.
