Every member, upon attaining the age of sixty five (65) years, shall automatically be retired from active service and participation as a member and be presented with a service pin and made an honorary member of the Fire Department; and provided, that any member, before attaining the age of sixty five (65) but who becomes permanently disabled, shall be automatically retired and presented a service pin and made an honorary member of the Department, regardless of length of service, at the annual banquet following such permanent disablement.
