(A) Ambulance service for the village is hereby established.
(B) The ambulance service shall exist and operate subject to the following.
(1) Ambulance and related emergency medical services shall be provided by members of the Village Volunteer Fire Department who will be compensated for their time and skills by the village. The Village Volunteer Fire Department shall oversee and be responsible for the ambulance and related emergency medical services provided pursuant to this section.
(2) All members of the Village Volunteer Fire Department who provide ambulance and related emergency medical services shall be properly licensed and/or certified as required by the state and Passavant Area Hospital of Jacksonville, Illinois.
(3) The ambulance service shall operate in compliance with the applicable statutes of the state and the Village Volunteer Fire Department shall, prior to providing ambulance and related emergency medical services, obtain all necessary permits and certifications from the state.
(4) The ambulance and related emergency medical services shall comply with the rules and policies established by Passavant Area Hospital of Jacksonville, Illinois.
(5) The Village Volunteer Fire Department shall on a monthly basis apprise the President and Board of Trustees of the ambulance and related emergency medical services it provides.
(6) Ambulance and related emergency medical services may be provided to individuals residing outside the corporate limits of the village.
(7) The corporate authorities shall fix, charge, and collect emergency medical service fees for ambulance and related emergency medical services rendered pursuant to this section against persons, businesses, and other entities.
(8) The following schedule of rates was established for ambulance and related emergency medical services:
