(A) All members of the City Police Department who carry deadly weapons on or about their persons when performing their duties as members of the Police Department be and the same hereby are authorized to carry concealed deadly weapons on or about their persons at all times within the state.
(B) The deadly weapons which may be carried by the members of the Police Department are those weapons that are usually carried by the officers in performing their duties when on regular duty within the city.
(C) It is the intent and purpose of this section to protect the members of the City Police Department from prosecution under the provisions of KRS 527.020(3) on those occasions as are specified in the statute.
