§ 30.01 SPECIFIC CORPORATE POWERS OF THE CITY.
   The city shall have the specific corporate power to sue and be sued; contract and be contracted with; acquire and hold property for municipal purposes; have a common seal and change it at pleasure; receive property of every kind and character for municipal, educational, charitable, and recreational purposes; and control and distribute the same for the purposes of gift. The city shall also have any other powers as pertinent sections of the statutes may prescribe.
