The Village Clerk shall file and carefully preserve the originals of all ordinances deposited in his or her office, and he or she may correct any errors in the numbering of any chapter, subchapter, division or section of any ordinance by inserting the proper numbers, and he or she may omit words inserted or supplied with brackets, words omitted by clerical mistake or incorrect spelling of words.
