For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
APARTMENT. A dwelling unit, which includes private kitchen and bathroom facilities and consists of one or more rooms designed, arranged, used or intended for use for occupancy by one or more persons.
APARTMENT BUILDING. Any premises having more than ten dwelling units, where each dwelling unit includes kitchen and bathroom facilities and consists of one or more rooms designed, arranged, used or intended for use for occupancy by one or more persons.
HOTEL. Any building or buildings with a common entrance or entrances, in which lodging or rooming units are provided and offered to the public for compensation, and which are open to transient, weekly, monthly or permanent guests, and which may have accessory faculties, including, but not limited to, a restaurant, banquet hall, ballroom, tavern, cocktail lounge, meeting rooms, swimming pool and recreation facilities.
MOTEL. Any building or buildings with a common entrance or entrances, or with doorways opening directly to the outdoors, or both, in which lodging or rooming units are provided and offered to the public for compensation, and which are open to transient, weekly, monthly or permanent guests, and which may have accessory facilities, including, but not limited to, a restaurant, banquet hall, ballroom, tavern, cocktail lounge, meeting rooms, swimming pool and recreation facilities. MOTEL includes HOTEL.
PARKING SPACE. A durably surfaced area, comprising an area of not less than 180 square feet, sufficient in size to store one standard automobile, except to the extent that a larger area may be required under state law for parking spaces for handicapped persons.
ROOM. When used in the context of hotels or motels, means a lodging or rooming unit.
