§ 94.038 TRIMMING BY THE VILLAGE.
If the owner or occupant of premises adjacent to a street, alley or sidewalk permits the limbs or foliage of trees or shrubs to grow in such a manner as to interfere with travel and passage of vehicles or persons on streets, alleys or sidewalks, it shall be the duty of the Trustee of Streets to notify such owner or occupant, in writing, to trim such trees or shrubbery within such time and in the manner specified in the notice. If any person so notified shall neglect or refuse to comply with such notice, the Trustee of Streets shall cause such trees or shrubbery to be trimmed, and the village shall recover the cost of trimming such trees and shrubbery from the owner or occupant by bringing suit in the name of the village against the person neglecting or refusing to trim such trees or shrubbery.
