§ 94.019 SPECIFICATIONS FOR EXCAVATION.
   Any person making an excavation in any street having a permanent type of pavement surface shall make such excavation by sawing the edges of the surface and curb openings. No excavated material shall be used for backfill within the limits of the street. The entire excavation within the limits of the street shall be backfilled in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, § 603.8, published by the State Department of Transportation, Division of Highways, as amended, and the backfill shall be made with trench backfill to within nine inches of the existing surface. The trench backfill shall be in accordance with the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, § 21Q. The remaining portion of the excavation shall be filled with seven inches of Class X concrete and two inches of bituminous concrete, Class I, as defined by the Standard Specifications. If it is necessary to remove a portion of the existing curb and gutter, such curb and gutter must be replaced to the original line and grade with Class X concrete. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with the State Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, adopted August 1, 1967, or the latest amendments thereof.
