The Trustee charged with the administration of this code shall have the authority, with the ratification of the Village Board, to modify any section of the Electrical Code. Modifications are only to be made when an application for the same is made, in writing, by the owner or lessee of the property on which the modification is to be made. Requests for modification shall be made and accepted on the grounds that compliance with the letter of the code would be impractical; however, any modification shall comply with the spirit of the code in that the public safety is to be preserved.
