(A) The village owns and operates Southern View Park, which provides many opportunities for village residents to enjoy the grounds, the lake, the pavilions and all the amenities of the park.
(B) Several members of the community have asked if there is an opportunity to make financial donations to the village for the purpose of maintaining the park and adding to the opportunities for outdoor recreation offered at the park.
(C) In order to provide that opportunity to assist the village in the maintenance and expansion of the opportunities presented by the park, the Board hereby authorizes the President and Treasurer to establish a Fund to be known as the “Friends of Southern View Park” at Heartland Credit Union (also located in the village). Contributions to the Fund will be tax deductible contributions to the village, and the funds will be used as determined by the Village Board, but will be dedicated to the maintenance and improvement of the park.
