§ 36.06 FILLING VACANCIES AND MAKING RETURNS.
   The judges of election shall appoint clerks when necessary to fill vacancies, and the judges and clerks of the village election shall take the same oath and have the same power and authority as the judges and clerks of general state elections. After the closing of the polls, the ballots shall be counted and returns shall be made out and returned to the Village Clerk, under seal, within two days after the election and, thereupon, the President and Board of Trustees shall examine and canvass such returns and declare the result of the election and cause a statement thereof to be entered on its journal.
