§ 91.21 NOTICE OF EXPOSURE TO RABIES.
   If an animal is believed to have rabies or has been bitten by an animal that is suspected of having rabies, the animal shall be confined by a leash or chain on its owner's premises. The owner shall notify the County Animal Control Officer of the fact that his or her animal has been exposed to rabies and at his or her discretion the County Animal Control Officer so notified is empowered to have the animal removed from the owner's premises to a veterinary hospital and then placed under observation for a period of 2 weeks at the expense of the owner. A violation of this section is subject to the penalty provided in § 10.99(A).
