§ 71.001 PROCEDURE UPON APPROACH OF POLICE OR FIRE DEPARTMENT VEHICLE.
   Upon the approach of any Police or Fire Department vehicle, or any other authorized emergency vehicle, giving an audible signal by bell, siren, or exhaust whistle, the driver of every other vehicle shall immediately drive to a position as near as possible and parallel to the right-hand edge of curb, clear of any intersection, and shall stop and remain there unless otherwise directed by a public safety employee or traffic officer until the Police, Fire or other authorized emergency vehicle has passed.
