§ 51.36 TAMPERING PROHIBITED.
   (A)   It shall be unlawful for any unauthorized person to connect to, tamper with, alter, operate or damage any part of the village waterworks or supply system, or it’s component parts.
   (B)   Tampering shall include, but not be limited to the following:
      (1)   No seal affixed by the Department of Public Works to any meter, valve, fitting, or other water connection shall be defaced or broken.
      (2)   It shall be unlawful for any person to alter or interfere with the proper registration of water meters.
      (3)   No person, other than a member of the Fire Department or Water Department, shall open or use water from any fire hydrant unless authorized to do so by the Director of Public Works. A fire hydrant meter shall be installed to record the quantity of water used and a fee charged for any such use.
      (4)   A $750 deposit on all hydrant meters is required.
      (5)   Any person who violates any of these provisions shall be subject to penalty, and held liable for water used.
