§ 150.07 INTERNATIONAL FIRE CODE ADOPTED BY REFERENCE.
   (A)   The village hereby adopts the 2018 International Fire Code, with all subsequent editions and amendments hereafter, by reference as if fully set out herein, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes prescribed in division (B) of this section.
   (B)   The following section of the 2018 International Fire Code is hereby amended, deleted or modified as hereinafter set forth:
      (1)   101.1 Title. Insert: “the Village of South Elgin, Kane County, Illinois” for “[name of jurisdiction].”
      (2)   505.1: Premises identification. Delete: “...4 inches (102mm)...” Insert: “... 6 inches (152mm)...”.
      (3)   506.1: Insert: “506.1 any structure (other than one and one family dwellings) that has an automatic fire alarm or automatic sprinkler system shall have at least one approved key box for each individual occupancy at the front and rear door and sprinkler room.”
      (4)   903.2.1.1: Group A-l Delete: fire area exceeds 12,000 square feet, Insert: An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided through buildings with a Group A-l fire area - Exception: Where the fire area is less than 5,000 square feet and the roof system is protected with an approved 1-hour fire separation.
      (5)   903.2.1.2: Group A-2 Delete: fire area exceeds 5,000 square feet, Insert: An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided through buildings with a Group A-2 fire area -Exception: Where the fire area is less than 5,000 square feet and the roof system is protected with an approved 1-hour fire separation.
      (6)   903.2.1.3: Group A-3 Delete: fire area exceeds 12,000 square feet, Insert: An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided through buildings with a Group A-3 fire area -Exception: Where the fire area is less than 5,000 square feet and the roof system is protected with an approved 1-hour fire separation.
      (7)   903.2.1.4: Group A-4 Delete: fire area exceeds 12,000 square feet, Insert: An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided through buildings with a Group A-4 fire area -Exception: Where the fire area is less than 5,000 square feet and the roof system is protected with an approved 1-hour fire separation.
      (8)   903.2.2: Group B Insert: An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided through building with a Group B fire area -Exception: Where the fire area is less than 5,000 square feet and the roof system is protected with an approved 1-hour fire separation.
      (9)   903.2.2: Group E Delete subsection 1: 1. Through all Group E fire areas greater than 12,000 square feet Insert: an automatic sprinkler system shall be provided through all buildings having a Group E fire area.
      (10)   903.2.3: Group F-l Delete sub-section: 1. Where a Group F-l fire area exceeds 12,000 square feet Insert: An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided through buildings with a Group F-l fire area-Exception: Where the fire area is less than 5,000 square feet and the roof system is protected with an approved 1-hour fire separation.
      (11)   903.2.4.5: Group F-2 Insert: An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided through buildings with a Group F-2 fire area -Exception: Where the fire area is less than 5,000 square feet and the roof system is protected with an approved 1-hour fire separation.
      (12)   903.2.6: Group M Delete subsection 1:1. Where a Group M fire area exceeds 12,000 square feet Insert: An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided through buildings with a group M fire area -Exception: Where the fire area is less than 5,000 square feet and the roof system is protected with an approved 1-hour fire separation
      (13)   903.2.8: Group R. An automatic sprinkler system installed in accordance with section 903.3 shall be provided throughout all buildings with a Group R fire area. Not to include one- and two-family dwellings, and townhouses.
      (14)   903.3.1.2: NFPA 13R sprinkler systems. Group R fire area up to and including four stories in height, automatic sprinkler systems shall be installed throughout in accordance with NFPA 13R.
      (15)   903.3.1.2.1: Balconies and decks Delete: Type V construction. Insert: all types of construction.
      (16)   903.2.9: Group S-1 An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided through buildings with a Group S-1 fire area -Exception: Where the fire area is less than 5,000 square feet and the roof system is protected with an approved 1hour fire separation.
      (17)   903.2.10: Group S-2 Insert: An automatic sprinkler system shall be provided through buildings with a Group S-2 fire area -Exception: Where the fire area is less than 5,000 square feet and the roof system is protected with an approved 1-hour fire separation.
      (18)   903.3.6: Hose threads. Insert: “...four (4) inch STORZ connection...”.
      (19)   903.4.1: Monitoring. Insert: “Connection directly to the Fire District dispatch center or other approved answering service, by radio remote alarm system.”
      (20)   903.4.2: Alarms. Insert: “...an approved visual alerting devise shall be installed above the Fire Department connection and (separate) sprinkler room door in a visible location...”.
      (21)   905.3.1: Insert the following at the end of the current paragraph: “Class I standpipes shall be installed in all buildings where any portion of the building floor area is more than 150 feet of travel from the nearest point of Fire Department vehicle access.”
      (22)   907.2: Where required. Delete: “...manual automatic or...” Insert: “All manual and automatic fire alarm systems shall be installed through all buildings greater than 2,500 square feet unless otherwise required by this section, and monitored by the Dispatch Center approved by the Village.”
