Sump pumps installed to receive and discharge groundwaters or surface waters shall be connected to a storm sewer or into a drainage ditch or storm drainage system. Sump pumps installed to receive and discharge building floor drain flow, laundry tubs or other wastewater shall be connected to the sanitary sewers pursuant to the Building Code of the village. Each individual sump pump shall be used for one function only, either the discharge of uncontaminated storm related ground waters or the discharge of wastewater.
