The purpose of this chapter is to:
A. Protect the potable water supply of residents of the village by isolating the resident's potable water system from the resident's lawn sprinkling system, thus preventing contamination or pollution from the resident's lawn to the potable water system from contamination caused by the backflow of contaminants through the water supply connection;
B. Maintain the backflow prevention program by eliminating both potential and existing cross connections between the potable water system and nonpotable water systems within the resident's premises. (Ord. 99-572, 5-13-1999)
