A. Code Adopted: The International Residential Code, 2018 edition, including Appendix Chapters, as published by the International Code Council (the "Residential Code"), three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the Village Clerk of the Village of South Barrington, is hereby adopted and incorporated by reference as the Residential Code of the Village of South Barrington, Illinois, for the purpose of regulating and governing the construction, alteration, movement, enlargement, replacement, repair, equipment, location, removal and demolition of detached one- and two-family dwellings and multiple single family dwellings (townhouses) not more than three stories in height with separate means of egress as herein provided and providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes as set forth in subsection B of this section.
B. Additions, Insertions, Deletions and Changes to Residential Code: The International Residential Code is modified as set forth in a document entitled "Additions, Insertions, Deletions and Changes to 2018 International Residential Code - Adopted August 2018," which document will be appended to the Residential Code and on file in the office of the Village Clerk of the Village of South Barrington.
C. To the extent the Residential Code conflicts with other ordinances or parts of ordinances adopted by the Village of South Barrington, the more restrictive ordinance or part thereof shall govern. (amd. Ord. 2018-1187, 8-9-2018)
