4-3-2-A: FIRE PIT REGULATIONS:
All recreational fires shall be in an approved and permitted fire pit structure. A building permit is required to construct a fire pit. All fire pits shall be less than twenty-four inches (24") in height and shall be constructed of non-combustible materials. Fire pit diameter and fuel is directly related to the distance from the nearest combustible part of the house structure or other combustible material such as tree branches nearby and overhead.
   A.   Fire pits are not permitted to be located less than twelve feet (12') from the house.
   B.   Fire pits located between twelve feet (12') and fifteen feet (15') from the house are only permitted to burn natural gas and/or LP gas as a fuel and may not be greater than twenty-four inches (24") in diameter.
   C.   Fire pits located between fifteen feet (15') and twenty-five feet (25') from the house can burn Class A fuel (wood), natural gas and/or LP gas and may not be greater than thirty-six inches (36") in diameter.
   D.   Fire pits located more than twenty-five feet (25') from the house can burn Class A fuel (wood), natural gas and/or LP gas and may not be greater than forty-eight inches (48") in diameter. (Ord. 2020-155, 12-10-2020; amd. Ord. 2023-1355, 3-9-2023)
