11-3-6: SIDEWALKS, STREETLIGHTS; CURBS, GUTTERS; STREET SIGNS:
   A.   Sidewalks And Streetlights: Sidewalks and streetlights shall be installed throughout a subdivision where the lot size is less than forty thousand (40,000) square feet.
   B.   Curbs And Gutters: Curbs and gutters shall be required throughout all subdivisions, except as hereinbelow provided. Curbs and gutters shall be of the type, height, length and width as required by the village. Concrete curb and gutter shall be reinforced longitudinally as currently required by the village. Curbs and gutters shall be constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications set forth in the diagram attached to ordinance 0-88-282 as exhibit A and incorporated by reference herein, and in accordance with current "Standard Specifications For Road And Bridge Construction", state of Illinois, division of highways (current edition). The provisions of this subsection shall not apply to:
      1.   Any subdivision which receives preliminary plat approval as of July 1, 1987, and which approval does not require curbs and gutters; and
      2.   Any subdivision which, because of existing conditions in the terrain or the configuration of the subdivision, would experience an unreasonable hardship if required to construct curbs and gutters.
The plan commission/zoning board of appeals shall determine what constitutes an unreasonable hardship, which determination shall be subject to the approval of the village board of trustees. (Ord. 0-88-282, 1-14-1988)
   C.   Street Sign Design:
      1.   Uniform street sign design shall be required to be installed at all intersections in all subdivisions for every subdivision that receives preliminary plat approval as of July 1, 2004, and thereafter. Street sign design shall include the type, style, material, color, font, height, and length of the sign, as well as the type, color, material, height, and diameter of the pole and supporting bracket, as set forth in the standards as approved by the village board and on file with the village engineer and in accordance with current "Standard Specifications For Road And Bridge Construction", state of Illinois, division of highways (current edition).
Individuals or entities that currently have street signs and poles located in existing subdivisions may install, at their own expense, street signs and poles consistent with the standards provided herein. In such event, the village shall be responsible for the maintenance of such replaced signs and poles after the initial installation. (Ord. 2004-715, 5-13-2004)
      2.   The village board does hereby adopt, as the village standard, the street sign design as set forth herein.
