(a) The Chief, Assistant Chief, volunteer fire fighters, and auxiliary will be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council.
(b) The Volunteer Fire Department shall have in addition to the Chief and Assistant Chief, one captain, four lieutenants and two engineers. The Chief shall appoint said officers to hold office until removed as provided by law. The Chief may appoint officers in training such that anticipated retirements or resignations may be filled by experienced members.
(c) The Chief may select the Custodian from retired fire fighters who desire to remain active and are physically capable, longest service to the Department to be considered. It shall be the duty of the custodian to be active in practices, meetings, and maintaining the appearance of the station.
