The penalty for any violation shall be a fine not to exceed $500. Each day any violation of this chapter or of any ordinance shall continue shall constitute a separate offense. In addition to the penalties hereinabove provided, any condition caused or permitted to exist in violation of any of the provisions of this chapter or any ordinance shall be deemed a public nuisance and may be, by the city, abated as provided by law, and each day that the condition continues shall be regarded as a new and separate offense. The penalty set forth in this section shall be cumulative of all other penalties and remedies set forth in this chapter, and the penalty of a fine shall not be construed so as to allow the payment of a fine in lieu of costs incurred for cleanup and restoration, or with the duty of complying with court ordered injunctive relief sought by the city.
