§ 11-4-5 RIDING ON SIDEWALKS.
   No person shall ride a bicycle upon Main Street, or upon the sidewalks adjacent to Main Street, between the center line of Somerton Avenue and the center line of Federal Street as those center lines intersect Main Street within the city. The Chief of Police is authorized to erect signs on any sidewalk, street, alley, or public highway prohibiting the riding of bicycles thereon by any person. The presence or absence of the signs shall in no way affect the validity of this article or its enforceability. Whenever any person is riding a bicycle upon a sidewalk permitted under this article, the person shall yield the right-of-way to any pedestrian and shall otherwise ride and operate the bicycle in compliance with the provisions of this article and the laws of the state applicable to the driver of a vehicle, except those provisions which, by their nature, can have no application.
