Anyone violating the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be subject to a fine of not more than $500 and the cost of prosecution thereof, by imprisonment in the county jail for a period not to exceed 30 days, or both. Each day that a violation is permitted to exist shall constitute a separate offense. The imposition of any sentence shall not exempt the offender from compliance with the requirements of this chapter.
