(a) No person shall blow, or cause to be blown, outdoors within the city, the steam whistle or equivalent, of any stationary plant as a signal for commencing or suspending work, or for any other purpose. This section shall not be construed as forbidding the use of steam whistles, or their equivalent, as alarm signals in case of fire, collision or other imminent danger.
(b) Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
