The municipality now existing in the County of Cuyahoga, State of Ohio, and known as Solon shall continue to be a body politic and corporate under the name of the Village of Solon. If and when the municipality of Solon shall, under the Constitution and the general laws of the State of Ohio, become a city, it shall be known as the City of Solon, and wherever in this Charter the word “Village” appears, it shall then be construed to read “City,” and the provisions of this Charter shall apply whether this municipality is a Village or a City.
