(a) There is hereby established the position of Director of Senior Services. The Director of Senior Services shall be appointed by the Mayor, subject to the confirmation by a majority of the members of Council, pursuant to Article V, § 5, of the City Charter. The Director of Senior Services shall report directly to the Mayor and shall perform such duties as may be required by the Mayor pursuant to the position’s job description on file in the Human Resource Department. In addition to the Director of Senior Services, there are hereby established the following full-time positions and are not to exceed the listed numbers of positions which may be filled by approval of the Mayor:
(1) Program Coordinators;
(2) Social Worker;
(3) Department Head Secretary;
(4) Activities Assistants/Receptionist; and
(5) Van drivers.
(b) The Senior Services Department positions shall work under and be subject to the supervision of the Director of Senior Services and shall perform such duties as may be delegated to such positions by the Director and which are substantially consistent with the position’s job description on file in the Human Resource Department.
(c) In addition, fees for all City Senior Services Programs shall be set forth by the Director of Senior Services and shall be subject to change as the Mayor or his or her designee deems necessary in accordance with the annual budgetary appropriations authorized by City Council for the Senior Services Department.
