All headstones in the Mt. Hope and Roselawn Cemeteries shall be limited to a maximum height of three feet including a base under the headstone if applicable, unless otherwise waived by the Safety and Public Properties Committee for good cause shown. Although it is not mandatory, it is highly recommended that all headstones installed as of January 1, 2013 have a base underneath the headstone to prevent the possibility of damage which may result from the need to temporarily move a headstone to allow for burial operations or damage which may occur during maintenance within the cemetery. The city high recommends the purchase of this option when placing a headstone request with the city.
