The Police Chief of the city shall issue to the presently existing gun clubs, whose ranges comply with the safety standards of the National Skeet Shooting Association, the Amateur Trap Shooting Association and the National Rifle Association and with the safety standards set forth in this chapter, a permit to operate such ranges. Permits shall be automatically renewable at the end of each calendar year and the charge for each such permit shall be $25. The Police Chief may revoke the permit at any time if he or she finds that the firing range is being operated contrary to the provisions of this chapter and the safety standards hereinbefore set forth.
