(A) All subdivisions shall be served by the existing Smithville public sanitary sewer system, or an extension of such system. The subdivider or developer shall provide a system of sanitary sewer mains to the subdivision and shall provide lateral connections for each lot. Whenever main lines are installed, sewer mains shall be extended to the property lines of the subdivision. Connections to public sanitary sewer lines shall be subject to the approval of and according to the specification of the responsible governmental official having jurisdiction. All sanitary sewer extensions shall be approved by Ohio EPA prior to final village approval. Sanitary sewers shall be installed to the boundaries of the subdivision to permit future extension.
(B) All sanitary sewers shall be constructed in accordance with Village of Smithville Construction and Material Specifications and Standard Construction Drawings.
(1) Sizing. Main lines shall be a minimum of eight inches in diameter. Lateral connections for single family residences shall not be less than six inches diameter. Multi-family units and non-residential facilities shall be sized accordingly.
(2) Manholes. The maximum distance between sanitary manholes shall be 375 feet. Manholes shall be required at every bend and dead-end of sanitary mains.
(3) Laterals. All bends will be 45 degrees or less. Clean-outs shall be required every 90 feet.
(4) Backfill. All excavations under or within two feet of streets and driveways shall be backfilled with 304 aggregate material compacted in 12 inch lifts.
(5) Tests. All sanitary sewer shall be air tested, mandrel tested and videotaped and the results filed with the village. No sewer line shall be placed in service without prior approval from the village.
(6) Pump stations and force mains. When permitted, pump stations and force mains shall comply with the standards established by the Board of Public Affairs.
