At the time of application, the applicant shall furnish a performance bond for the amount of the estimated construction cost of the driveway or sidewalk. The performance bond or cash deposit submitted to the village will assure the village that the applicant or his or her heirs, successors and assigns, their agents or servants will comply with all applicable terms, conditions, provisions or requirements of this chapter, will faithfully perform and complete the work of constructing the driveway or sidewalk. The bond shall be in a form approved by the Village Solicitor. The term of this bond shall extend 12 months beyond the completion date, but the bond shall be returned to the bonded person upon the verification, by the Street Commissioner, that the driveway or sidewalk is completed and accepted.
