The City of Slayton qualifies for this exemption pursuant to M.S. 16B.73 as it is a municipality with a population of less than 2,500 people which is located in Murray County, Minnesota, a non-metropolitan county which by referendum vote conducted pursuant to the provisions of M.S. 16B.72 did not adopt the State Building Code, except the building requirements for handicapped persons.
