3-3-6: ELECTRIC SERVICE IN STAR LAKE ESTATES:
Any persons, firms, associations, or corporations engaged in the business of furnishing electric service within the addition of Star Lake Estates (located at the northeast corner of the intersection of State Highway 75 and 176th Street North) in the city not operating under a valid franchise from the city, and upon whom the tax provided under section 3-3-1 of this chapter is imposed, is hereby granted a revocable permit by the city for so long as this chapter remains in effect and the taxes are paid in accordance with the terms of this chapter to acquire, construct, erect, install, maintain, extend, own and operate an electrical distribution system within such addition, including, but not limited to, an electric distribution substation(s), transformers and transformer stations, switches, circuit breakers and regulators, electric lines and circuits, whether same be primary or secondary services, street lighting, poles, standards, cable, guys and anchors, and any other apparatus and appurtenances comprising the electric system in, across, upon and under the streets, alleys, avenues, boulevards, lanes, sidewalks, parkings, driveways, rights of way, utility easements, and other public ways, all being sometimes referred to herein as "streets, alleys, avenues, and other public ways", in the city as now constituted, and as may be added to hereafter, for the purpose of transmitting, distributing, and selling electric service to Star Lake Estates, its inhabitants for residential, commercial and industrial uses, and for any and all other purposes for which electric service, during the period of this revocable permit may be used, together with the right to enter upon the streets, alleys, avenues and other public ways of the city for the purpose of trimming and removing trees, etc., constructing, erecting, installing, extending, locating, operating, maintaining, removing and repairing the electric system and all its apparatus, machinery, structures and appurtenances, etc. (Ord. 95-01, 1-31-1995)
