9-5-6: GARBAGE CONTAINER REQUIREMENTS:
   A.   Location:
      1.   Garbage and trash containers shall be located at a single place on each premises, which shall be easily accessible to the street or alley from which the collections are made. Containers located inside of buildings must be accessible to collectors. The city reserves the right to refuse to collect garbage and trash from containers which are not easily accessible, and do not meet the requirements of this chapter.
      2.   Garbage and trash containers shall not be located directly under downspouts or eaves where they will be deluged with water during storms. (1991 Code § 9-6)
   B.   Container Specifications:
      1.   The standard refuse container required by this chapter shall be a receptacle of not more than thirty (30) gallons' or less than ten (10) gallons' capacity of impervious material and sturdy construction with a tightfitting cover equipped with at least two (2) handles properly placed to facilitate handling, and shall be subject to the approval of the city council.
      2.   If one container is not sufficient to hold the quantity of garbage and trash accumulated between collections, a sufficient number of containers shall be provided. (1991 Code § 9-7)
