8-1-1: DEFINITIONS:
For the purpose of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section:
APPLICANT: Any contractor, person or organization desiring to cross public ways within the city or in any other area in which the city has jurisdiction with pipes, wires, lines, conduit or anything else.
BACKFILL: As applied to open cuts, means one and one-half inch (11/2") crusher run compacted to ninety five percent (95%) standard proctor density.
 
BOND: A two thousand five hundred dollar ($2,500.00) surety bond issued by a company licensed to do business within the state of Oklahoma or the deposit of cash for the benefit of the city in the same amount with a bank engaged in business in Tulsa County or Osage County, Oklahoma, conditioned that all work done will be in accordance with this chapter and all other applicable ordinances of the city and statutes or regulations of the state of Oklahoma; and the bond shall further be conditioned that the principal shall indemnify and save the city harmless from any and all loss, cost, damages, expenses, actions or liability of any kind, including reasonable attorney fees, which the city may be required to pay by reason of any loss, damage, injury sustained, suffered or incurred by any person on account of or by reason of any work performed by the applicant or his agents in the use of the streets, alleys or property of the city or by reason of the neglect or failure or refusal of the principal or his agents to erect and maintain proper safety devices, warning signals or barricades about such work while it is in progress and until completed.
 
BORE AND CASE: The drilling of a channel laterally from one side of the public way to the other at a depth which, in the opinion of the city, will not disturb or injure the surface of the public way and the installation of the wire, pipe or other device within a durable and permanent casing.
 
MUTCD: "Manual Of Uniform Traffic Control Devices".
 
OPEN CUT: Excavation through the surface of the public way.
 
PROCTOR DENSITY: The maximum density (weight/volume) the backfill can be compacted. (Ord. 2000-10, 8-29-2000)
