A. Penalties Imposed: Except as provided by State law or otherwise in this Code, whenever in this Code or in any ordinance of the City an act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, or whenever in this Code or any ordinance the doing of any act is required or the failure to do any act is declared to be unlawful, where no specific penalty is provided, the violation of any provision of this Code or of any ordinance, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable by a fine of not exceeding the following: (2011 Code)
1. Traffic: The maximum fine for traffic-related offenses relating to speeding or parking shall not exceed two hundred dollars ($200.00) and/or sixty (60) days in jail, and court costs and fees as set by the City and/or required by State law.
2. Other Offenses: The maximum fine for all other offenses shall not exceed seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00) and/or sixty (60) days in jail and court costs and fees as set by the City and/or required by State law. (Ord. 2017-05, 10-10-2017, eff. 11-1-2017)
B. Aiding Or Abetting: Any person who shall aid, abet or assist in the violation of any provision of this Code or any other ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punished as provided in this section.
C. Each Day A Separate Offense: Each day or any portion of a day during which any violation of this Code or of any ordinance shall continue shall constitute a separate offense. (2011 Code)
