A. Private Property: No person owning or in charge or control of any private property within the jurisdictional limits of the town shall allow or permit any derelict vehicle to remain unsheltered on such property for more than thirty (30) days and shall be responsible for the removal of any such vehicle, including the associated costs thereof.
B. Public Property: It is the responsibility of the owner of any vehicle which is left or abandoned on any public property to remove such, including payment of all associated costs thereof.
C. Exceptions: This section shall not apply to the following:
1. A vehicle that is enclosed in a secure building.
2. A vehicle on the premises of a business enterprise operated in a lawful place and manner when necessary for the operation of the business enterprise.
3. A vehicle in an appropriate storage or depository facility maintained in a lawful place and manner by a governmental agency. (Ord. 345, 4-21-2005)
4. An antique motor vehicle as defined in Wyoming Statutes section 31-2-223 which is licensed as provided by law. (Ord. 345, 4-21-2005; amd. 2014 Code)
5. A vehicle which is covered by an intact custom car cover made for the specific type and size of vehicle which it covers.
a. In no instance may a person have more than two (2) such covered vehicles on his or her property.
b. No custom covered vehicle may be stored on public property or right of way.
6. A derelict vehicle on private property for which the town council has granted a permit for the same to remain in its current location for a specified period of time, if said permit has not run past the allotted time period. The granting of such permit and the period of time authorized by the town council shall be at their sole discretion and shall be determined on a case by case basis, but in no event shall the time period, including any extensions thereof, be longer than sixty (60) days from the original granting of said permit.
