The contractor performing the work shall be responsible for enforcing safety and maintaining safe working conditions in all trenching, shoring, and backfilling to conform to OSHA regulations. The contractor shall employ qualified, properly trained personnel to design shoring, perform safety inspection of the trenches and supervise other operations involving safety procedures.
