The Building Inspector shall serve written notice of violation of the provisions of this chapter, of violation of a detailed statement or a plan approved thereunder, or of violation of a permit or certificate issued under this chapter, on the person responsible for the violation or for its remedy. The Building Inspector shall order the discontinuance of the illegal action or condition, the abatement or correction of the violation, or the taking of such action as may be necessary to achieve compliance with this chapter, and he shall serve written notice of the order on the responsible person.
