§ 113.02  REGISTRATION WITH POLICE DEPARTMENT REQUIRED.
   (A)   The practice of going in and upon private residences or in public places in the city by solicitors, peddlers or hawkers not having been first invited or requested to do so by the owners or occupants of such places for the purpose of soliciting donations or orders for the sale of goods, wares and merchandise, or for the purpose of disposing of or peddling the same is hereby prohibited unless such person desiring to hawk, peddle or solicit shall first register with the Police Department of the city on a form furnished by the Police Department, in which such person shall set forth his name, address, the name and address of the person or corporation whom he represents, the name and address of at least two references as to his moral character, honesty and integrity, a brief description of the nature of the business in which he is engaged, and the kind of goods or property or services to be hawked, peddled or solicited.
   (B)   The first violation shall be punishable as a minor misdemeanor, with subsequent offenses punishable as misdemeanors of the first degree.
