(a) All regular full-time employees of the Village, except elective officials who are employed on a salary basis or hourly basis, are hereby granted time off with pay for the following legal holidays:

(2) Martin Luther King Jr. Day (8) Labor Day
(3) President’s Day (9) Thanksgiving Day
(4) Good Friday (10) Day following Thanksgiving
(5) Memorial Day (11) Christmas Eve
(6) Juneteenth (12) Christmas Day
(13) New Year’s Eve.

(b) In the event that any of the holidays falls on a Sunday and is celebrated on the following Monday, the time off herein granted to the employee for such holiday shall carry over and be granted for the day on which the holiday is celebrated. If a holiday falls on a Saturday, the Friday before shall be herein granted to employees for such holiday.
(c) Compensation for holidays for hourly paid employees shall be computed for each individual employee on the basis of such employee’s most recent hourly rate based on a forty-hour week.

(d) After one year of employment from the employee's anniversary date, regular parttime employees are entitled to designate six (6) paid holidays from the list of twelve (12) holidays observed by the Village. No regular part time employee will he paid for any observed holiday which occurred during their part time employment unless the employee chose the holiday as one of the six (6) paid holidays. Regular part time employees are not entitled to holiday pay for any future observed Village holiday if they are not employed as a regular part time employee on the observed date. Such holiday pay will be based on the average number of hours of work per day in the previous year, beginning on the employee anniversary date, rounded to the nearest whole number. Employees will not be paid each week for hours which exceed an employee's scheduled hours.

(e) Compensation for regular full-time employees who work Easter Sunday as part of their regularly scheduled work week may be paid at a rate equal to one and one-half times their regular hourly rate of pay for hours worked on that day. Any overtime will be paid at the regular overtime rate as then in effect by the current salary ordinance.
