139.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purposes of this chapter, the various categories of employees of the Village shall be defined as follows:
(a)   Regular Full-time. All employees of the Village required to work a forty hour week or more on a prescheduled work day and work week and who receive a salary as compensation for their services and who have completed their introductory period of employment.
(b)   Introductory. Employees serving a defined period of training and/or evaluation prior to being converted to regular full-time status. Introductory periods for all employees (except law enforcement personnel) shall be 180 days unless such time is extended by the department head. Introductory periods for law enforcement officers shall be one year unless such time is extended by the Chief of Police.
(c)   Intermittent Part-Time. Employees who are regularly employed on a prescheduled basis not to exceed 1,000 hours during the year and employees engaged on an irregular or an occasional basis with hours or days of work not necessarily on a prearranged schedule and with compensation only for the time actually worked or for services actually rendered.
(d)   Seasonal. Employees who are employed on a seasonal basis for a period not to exceed forty weeks during the year with hours or days of work not necessarily on a prearranged schedule and with compensation only for the time actually worked or for services actually rendered.
(e)   Regular Part-Time. Clerical employees who are regularly employed on a prescheduled basis but work less than forty hours per week.

   (f)   Retirement. for the purposes of this chapter means retiring under the age and service time requirements prescribed under the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) or the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund as to permit regular retirement benefits. (Ord. 21-2010. Passed 3-15-10.)
