(a) There are hereby created on-call and call back pay provisions for employees of the Service Department and Administrative Department of the Village of Silver Lake as follows:
(1) Service Department: Employees of the Service Department, except the Service Director, shall be compensated a minimum of two hours of pay when said employees are asked to return to work after leaving the premises for the day. If the employee works longer than two (2) hours, the employee will be paid for the time he/she actually works. Two or more call-ins within a two hour period will be considered as one call-in.
Additionally, the Service Department employee considered on-call during the weekend shall be compensated up to four hours of pay for each weekend day.
(2) Administrative Department. Employees of the Administrative Department shall receive up to two hours of pay when said employees are asked to return to work after leaving the premises for the day. If the employee works longer than two (2) hours, the employee will be paid for the time he/she actually works.

(3) Police Department. Employees of the Police Department, except the Chief of Police, shall be compensated a minimum of two hours of pay when said employees are asked to return to work after leaving the premises following their regularly scheduled shift. If the employee works longer than two (2) hours, the employee will be paid for the time he/she actually works. Two or more call-ins within a two-hour period will be considered as one call-in. Additionally, the Chief of Police may designate a supervisor on-call for a calendar month. On-call status for such designated supervisors shall be compensated at the rate of two hours of overtime per calendar month.

(b) An overtime rate-of-pay (1 1/2 times the employee's regular rate shall be paid to regular full-time Service Department and Administrative Department employees returning to work for on-call and call-back purposes who have already worked their normal shift (8 hours or 10 hours as the case may be), or, for part-time employees, who have already worked at least forty hours during the week. Sick time taken during a forty-hour workweek in which an employee has an on-call or call-back return to work shall not be counted as time worked for overtime computation. (Ord. 21-2010.
