(a) These regulations shall be known and may be cited and referred to as the "Subdivision and Development Regulations" of the Village of Silver Lake.
(b) This chapter is enacted in accordance with Ohio Revised Code Chapter 711 and for the following purposes:
(1) Protecting the public health, safety, comfort, convenience and general welfare;
(2) Regulating the subdivision and development of lands in the Village;
(3) Promoting the orderly, efficient and appropriate development of streets and layout of utilities and other facilities deemed necessary or appropriate to the public interest.
(4) Providing for water, drainage, sewer, and other sanitary facilities to service the subdivision, or development.
(5) Safeguarding the interests of the owners or occupants of property, the developers and the local government.
(6) Accurately surveying, preparing and recording of plats and subdivision of land.
(7) Prescribing penalties for violation of the provisions of this chapter or amendments thereto.
