The period for licenses issued pursuant to the provisions of this chapter shall commence on July 1 of each year and shall expire on midnight of June 30 of the following calendar year. The licenses shall be printed in the forms prescribed and approved by the State Control Board, shall be issued and signed by the City Clerk and countersigned by the Mayor, and the fee or tax shall be collected by the City Clerk.
