Where an act or omission is prohibited or declared unlawful in this code of ordinances, and no penalty of fine or imprisonment is otherwise provided, the offender shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not more than $500 or imprisoned for not more than 12 months, or both, for each offense. Each day any violation shall continue shall constitute a separate offense.
